Quote with 3 notes
A woman who is willing to be herself
and pursue her own potential
runs not so much the risk of loneliness,
as the challenge of exposure to more
interesting men- and people in general.

The ReWrite presents: “Dear Mama”, a showcase featuring API spoken word artists and poets. There will also be an open mic inviting others to share their stories, their gift of words, and other various talents.
The title, “Dear Mama”, celebrates the people in our lives who take on the role of nurturers and care givers. Paying respect to those who contribute in the conception of the communities we are fortunate to live in. These are the people from whom we inherit our knowledge of love and are the ones who inspire us to build with love.

The ReWrite will be fundraising a portion of the proceeds for their first anthology
The ReWrite Anthology:
Nam-jai, a Tribute to Bay Area Asian/Pacific Islander Poets
The ReWrite’s goal behind our first anthology is to pay homage and celebrate Bay Area Asian/Pacific Islander poets and spoken word artists. We push to share the stories that both reflect our community and take part in re-imagining it. These are our stories, our truths, and our spirits to reclaim, renew, and embody.
As such, this compilation of poetry highlights each poet’s selflessness that defines Nam-jai, a cherished Thai expression describing the flow from the heart and the generosity and care in taking care of others. As we share these poems, we share parts of our own hearts that we give graciously back to the Bay Area community.
